Reporting Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is unwelcome verbal, written, or physical conduct of a sexual nature that is severe, persistent, or pervasive enough to interfere with a student's education. Texas Tech Health El Paso is committed to a learning and working environment free from sex-based harassment and discrimination.
In an Emergency
If you are in immediate danger, or reporting an incident that poses a risk of harm to a person or property, call 911.
Submitting an online report does not substitute for filing a report with police.
What Is Sexual Harassment?
Unwelcome verbal, written, or physical conduct of a sexual nature that is severe, persistent, or pervasive enough to unreasonably interfere with a student's educational experience. This can include unwelcome sexual comments or advances, sexual images or materials, unwanted physical contact, sexual assault, or other gender-based intimidation, bullying, or violence.
Note: while not appropriate, not all rude or offensive comments or conduct constitute sexual harassment or unlawful discrimination.
Where Do I Report Sexual Harassment?
All reports are processed through the Texas Tech Health Foster School of Medicine El Paso Title IX Office. Reports may be submitted by students, employees, or third parties using the online form below, or by contacting the Title IX Coordinator directly (see contact information on this page).

What Is Texas Tech Health El Paso's Response?
Education: We encourage students, faculty, and staff to know their rights. Sexual harassment is a violation of university policy (see our Statement of Policy) and the Code of Student Conduct, and is prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Everyone has a right to an education and work environment free of bias, intimidation, or hostility. Educational programs and training sessions on sexual harassment are available to students, faculty, and staff.
Counseling and Support: Texas Tech Health El Paso provides counseling services for anyone who believes they have been sexually harassed. Students may seek counseling through the Program of Assistance for Students, while faculty and other employees may use the Employee Assistance Program.
Sexual Harassment Prevention Training: Students receive training at matriculation through an online training module and are required to confirm completion of this training. Completion records are kept in the student's file in the Office of Student Affairs.
