Transfer Students

Texas Tech Health El Paso welcomes students who want to transfer into our bachelor’s degree nursing programs. This page brings together pathway information, the transfer credit review process, and support contacts for prospective and current transfer students.

Programs Currently Accepting Transfer Students

The Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing offers two bachelor’s pathways for transfer-oriented students:

  • Accelerated B.S.N. — the entry pathway for students who are not already registered nurses.
  • R.N. to B.S.N. — a completion pathway for licensed registered nurses and eligible associate-degree nursing students.

Visit Nursing Transfer Pathways for an overview of each option and links to admission requirements, prerequisite coursework, and how to apply.

How Transfer Credit Is Reviewed

Texas Tech Health El Paso evaluates transfer coursework under HSCEP OP 77.17. Coursework generally must correspond with a current Texas Tech Health El Paso course required in a student’s program of study, and domestic transfer credit is generally accepted from regionally accredited institutions. Visit Transfer Credit, Evaluation and Disputes for the full review process, common transfer-credit issues, and how to dispute a denied transfer credit.
