Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE)
The Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE) Team helps address concerns that may affect a Texas Tech Health El Paso student’s well-being, safety or academic success. Students, faculty, staff and community members may submit a referral.

Submit a referral when you are concerned about a student’s behavior, well-being, safety or ability to succeed. Provide specific, factual information to help the CARE Team evaluate the concern and determine an appropriate response.
Referrals may be submitted by students, faculty, staff or community members. Information
from a referral is shared with appropriate individuals involved in evaluating and
responding to the concern.

What the CARE Team Does
The CARE Team is a multidisciplinary group of campus professionals that identifies, evaluates and responds to concerns affecting students. The team works collaboratively to intervene early, connect students with appropriate support and promote both individual well-being and campus safety.
Examples of concerns that may be referred include:
- Significant behavioral changes or signs of distress.
- Concerns about self-harm, harm to others or personal safety.
- Academic or personal difficulties affecting a student’s well-being or success.
- Difficulty accessing support, resources or accommodations.
