Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.)
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing (HSON) Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) prepares professional nurses with the leadership and business concepts needed for administrative roles within dynamic health care environments. The program prepares nurses at a master’s level of education with concepts aligned with the core competencies outlined by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
The M.S.N. degree meets the education eligibility requirement for the American Organization for Nursing Leadership certification program exams in either the Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML).

Program Length
- Format: Online, with no requirements to attend class on campus
- Length: Part-time, 33 academic-credit-hour program completed in six consecutive semesters
- Course Load: Students enroll in six credit hours each semester
