Admission Requirements
Prerequisite Coursework
- Statistics Course: Completion of a three-semester-credit or four-quarter-credit statistics course with a grade of B or better from an accredited institution.
Previous Education
- B.S.N. Degree: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Nursing Accreditation: The nursing program must be accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the American Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly NLNAC).
Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Minimum GPA: A 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA in nursing coursework.
- Provisional Admission: Applicants with a GPA between 2.85 and 2.99 may be admitted provisionally.
- Condition: Must earn a 3.0 GPA in the first three (3) courses of the major to continue in the graduate program.
R.N. License
- Valid/Unencumbered License: Must have a valid, unencumbered R.N. license in the applicant’s state of residency.
- NCLEX-RN: Must successfully pass the NCLEX-RN before starting the M.S.N. coursework.
