2022 Residency Match Results

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Class of 2022, has had a successful match process through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). The NRMP oversees a computerized process that links choices of graduating medical students with preferences of residency program directors. Results were announced on Match Day, March 18, 2022.

All 90 members of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine who matched this year, including one student from the Class of 2021 and the Class of 2022, were successful in the residency match. This year's residency match outcomes for the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine are outstanding. Year after year, FSOM students are selected into highly competitive specialties and great programs all across the country.

While the national impact is impressive, we are especially pleased that over 50% of our graduates matched in Texas, approximately one-third of the students will be entering primary care specialties, and 17 students will continue their medical training in El Paso. We couldn't be more proud of this graduating class, and we wish them continued success and happiness. At the same time, we should acknowledge that these students trained in the time of COVID-19 and their resilience while learning medicine is commendable, and will serve them and their patients well. We honor each of our graduates today!
