Salary and Benefits
Residents are assigned to faculty mentors within the OB-GYN department as interns and remain with the same mentor throughout their residency. Mentees should meet with their faculty mentor once a quarter to provide academic support such as helping to create a timeline and study plan to pass required exams. The mentor will also help keep track of the mentees progress for required procedures and skills as they progress through their training. Mentors are also available for personal support. In addition, the Texas Tech Health El Paso House Staff Association was created to support the residents in solving issues pertinent to their training.
The Employee Assistant Program is a professional counseling and referral service available to help residents solve work and personal problems. This service is completely confidential and free of charge.
