Residency Application Requirements and Instructions

Application Submission

All applicants must submit their application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Required Documents

  • Medical School Transcript
    • Notarized copy in the original language.
    • English translation required for International Medical Graduates (IMGs).
  • Dean's Letter (MSPE)
    • Copy in the original language.
    • English translation required for IMGs.
  • USMLE Transcript
    • Official USMLE transcript.
    • Applicants must have completed USMLE Step 2 CS and Step 2 CK.
    • IMG applicants should have completed USMLE Step 3.
  • Letters of Recommendation
    • Three (3) letters of recommendation are required.
    • Applicants with previous U.S. residency training must submit an additional letter from their prior Program Director (total of four letters).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • Must be current and presented in chronological order.
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Diploma
    • Notarized copy in the original language.
    • English translation required for IMGs.
    • Applicants from Mexican medical schools must submit copies of both the front and back of the diploma showing the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) stamp.
    • A Fifth Pathway Certificate may be submitted if applicable.
  • ECFMG Certificate
    • Required for IMGs.
    • Certificate must be valid for the appointment year.
  • Clinical Rotation Affidavit
    • Required for IMGs who completed clinical rotations at an LCME-accredited medical school.

Additional Requirements

  • Visa Sponsorship
    • The program sponsors J-1 visas only.
  • Immigration Documentation
    • Non-U.S. citizens must provide proof of current immigration status valid for the appointment year.
  • Medical License
    • Copy of a license to practice medicine in your home country.
    • English translation required if applicable.
  • Background Check
    • All applicants are subject to a background check before beginning residency.

International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

  • Immigration documentation must be valid and current before the residency start date.
  • All required translations must accompany documents not issued in English.
  • ECFMG certification must be current for the appointment year.
