3rd Year Rotation
The Family Medicine/Surgery Rotation is an integrated 16-week clinical block that introduces third-year medical students to both family medicine and surgical care.
During the family medicine segment, students complete:
- Four weeks at the Texas Tech Family and Community Medicine Clinic on Kenworthy
- Two weeks with a community family physician or preceptor
During the surgery segment, students complete:
- Six weeks of General Surgery
- Four weeks of Surgical Electives
At the end of the 16-week block, students take the Family Medicine and Surgery NBME examinations.
