Division of Critical Care Research
The Division of Critical Care Research is dedicated to advancing the care of critically
ill and injured patients through clinically focused research. Our work supports improvements
in patient care and contributes to the advancement of Trauma Surgery, Acute Care Surgery,
and General Surgery.

These efforts are designed to answer important clinical questions and improve patient outcomes through evidence-based research.
Fellow Research Experience
Research is an important part of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. Fellows receive mentorship and institutional support throughout the research process, including the development and completion of an IRB-approved research study.
The goal is for each fellow to produce scholarly work that is suitable for presentation at scientific meetings and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
National Presentations
Faculty and fellows regularly present their research at national surgical and critical care meetings, sharing new knowledge and contributing to the advancement of evidence-based surgical practice.
Our division has presented research at meetings hosted by organizations including:

- Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST)
- Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM)
