Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
Texas Tech Health El Paso provides insurance benefits through the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS). Eligible employees have access to high-quality plans that offer flexibility, choice and statewide network coverage.
Health Insurance
Our health plans include HealthSelect of Texas and Consumer Directed HealthSelect.

Dental Insurance
Employees may choose between the State of Texas Dental Choice Plan and DeltaCare USA. Availability for DeltaCare USA coverage varies by area.

The State of Texas Vision Plan includes provider search tools, online account access and a summary of covered benefits.

Life & Disability Insurance
Texas Tech Health El Paso offers additional protection for employees and their families through optional life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term disability and long-term disability insurance options.

Retirement Plans
We support long-term financial security with multiple retirement options for eligible
employees.
Teacher Retirement System of Texas
Benefits-eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the Teacher Retirement System
of Texas (TRS). TRS offers a traditional defined-benefit pension with lifetime annuity
options.
Optional Retirement Plan
Faculty and certain professional staff may be eligible to elect the Optional Retirement
Plan (ORP), a defined-contribution retirement plan administered by approved vendor
companies.
Supplemental Savings
Employees may further enhance their retirement savings through 403(b) tax-deferred
account plans and the Texa$aver 457(b) supplemental retirement plan.

Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program provides confidential counseling support for eligible Texas Tech Health El Paso employees and immediate family members living in their households. Services may help with personal concerns such as stress, workplace conflict, anxiety, depressed mood, grief, relationship difficulties and family concerns.
Eligible participants may receive up to five sessions per employee household each fiscal year at no cost. Services are available in English and Spanish.

Leave & Time Away
Texas Tech Health El Paso offers leave benefits aligned with state regulations and institutional policy.

Eligible employees may take job-protected leave for qualifying family or medical reasons,

Leave Without Pay
Leave without pay may be approved under specific circumstances, with reinstatement
rights following return.
Military Leave
Military leave is provided in accordance with Texas Tech System policy and federal
and state law.
Sick Leave Pools & Donations
Employees may request additional leave for catastrophic illness or donate unused sick
leave to support colleagues in need.
